Sidelined

Sounds are muffled,
But I can hear the laughter of a thousand or more,
Children, women, men.
They play,
I can hear them singing and laughing.
I watch them dancing and living.

They are living.

I watch on as life goes on.
I look through a pane of glass,
A see through wall,
A barrier.
I can look but I cannot touch.

I so want to join.
I want to play.
I want to sing and laugh.
I want to dance.
I want to live.

I want to live on the pitch of life,
It’s too quiet here, too lonely.
I must break down this invisible wall,
Let in life, love and laughter.
I want to be abundant.
Please let me in, let me live,
Take me off the sidelines, and let me play the game.
